A Little About Me

Hi! My name is Courtney and I am a sophomore/junior in the Elementary Education program at Appalachian Bible College. I love kids. I think as of right now I really want to work with younger kids. I hope to someday open a preschool/daycare. I would also love to work with orphans one day if the Lord leads me in that direction.
I remember as a child playing school all the time with my friends or even by myself. I would set up all of my dolls and stuffed animals and teach them. I loved it!! Now it is crazy to me that soon I will be teaching real children! I realize that teaching kids is a huge responsibility and I know that ABC is preparing me more every day for that responsibility.
I want to be the kind of teacher that makes a difference in the lives of her students. I want students to learn alot in my class but I also want them to know that they are loved and that they are valuable. Many times teachers can give off the impression that students are wasting their time by asking questions or not understanding something or even by just being there. It is my hope that every student that comes into my room feels loved and important. I want to make a difference in the lives of all of my students.
I think that technology is a wonderful tool to be used in the classroom. I am really excited to get to try out some of these cool things!! I hadn't realized all of the options and different uses of technology that seems so basic. I am really excited to even just try out these things on my own for my own personal use. Technology can be really great is it is used properly and in a safe way.
