Using cameras in the classroom is such a fun idea! There are so many things that a teacher can do with them. It is a really fun hands on way to teach students about technology. Here are some ideas that I think would be fun to use in the classroom...
1. One thing that would be fun to do with the students could be a camera scavenger hunt. The students have to find things around the classroom to take pictures of things that go with a certain topic, begin with a certain letter of the alphabet, etc...
2. Using digital pictures for powerpoints.
3. Labeling around the classroom. since most of the new kindergarteners can't read, you could put a picture of what needs to be labeled along with the written word.
4.one idea that I found was using cropped pictures of the students for a border around a class newsletter.
5. end of the year slide show
6. book making-pictures of random things could be the story pictures and also an "about the author" section in the back with a picture of the students.
7. make a slideshow of different days of the week, months and take pictures of things they do on those days or something that could happen in that month.
8.make a number book. students assigned to a number-have to find things that correspond with that number and take a picture. 3 books in a stack, 6 chairs at a table, etc...
9. body part book- arms, legs, nose, ear-have the students take pictures of eachother and then put the pictures together in a book.
10. have the students dress up as what they want to be when they are older and photograph them. Use the pictures for a career day report.
11. seating chart with photos for substitute teachers
12. plant, animals or student growth chart throughout the year
13. 5 senses chart- take a picture of the sensory organ (nose) then take pictures of the things that the nose would work with. (flowers, candle, etc...)
There are so many fun things to do!!
